We've all seen the bumper sticker that reads, "Not all who wander are lost." Cliff is.

Lucy and Cliff have been getting lost since their first introduction on December 5th, 2011. Cliff traveled to Vietnam with the intention of buying a Minsk motorcycle named Lucy. Cliff and Lucy spent the next several months traveling through Vietnam and Cambodia.

Because of a mean agent at the Thailand border, Cliff and Lucy were separated for a couple of months while Cliff traveled through Thailand and Laos. Eventually, Cliff and Lucy made it back to HCMC (Saigon), where he arranged for Lucy to be shipped back to their home in Oregon.

After preparation and some needed modifications, Cliff and Lucy headed from Oregon south to California and eventually east, with the goal of getting to Cuba. Cliff had no idea how he would make it to Cuba, but riding a 2-stroke 125cc across the country gives a guy a lot of time to think. Well, damn if it didn’t work. Cliff was quoted after their 23-hour return from Cuba as saying, "I thought Lucy was slow; that boat sucked."

Cliff spent the next couple of months traveling and staying in the southern United States. Realizing after a horrendous piston meltdown in Myrtle Beach that maybe Lucy is impractical and traveling the world together was dumb. After another engine rebuild, Cliff and Lucy headed back to Oregon and Lucy's planned retirement.

Owing to the fact that Cliff gets bored, he embarked on a pretty extensive redesign and rebuild of Lucy, and in the fall of 2021, they did a 3000-mile ride around Oregon. Their most recent journey took place in the fall of 2022, when they traveled 2500 miles around Washington.

Cliff is in the process of building a custom adventure bike capable of going faster than 30 miles per hour.
